Espresso To Go mobile coffee franchisees donate all takings to Victorian Fire Victims

Mobile coffee franchisees Ken and Avril Kirkaldy donated all their takings from Friday 13 February 2009 to the Red Cross / Channel 9 telethon for Victorian Fire Victims.

After hearing the tragic tale of two sisters who died while trying to save their horses during Victoria's inferno, the couple were inspired to make their contribution to the nation-wide Appeal.

"We were watching all this tragedy unfolding before our eyes and we just felt like we had to do something," Ken said.

"Our customers were very supportive," he added.

Ken and Avril said they felt like theirs was just a small gesture but hoped it would motivate other business owners to do the same.

"Those poor people have lost everything," Ken said. "Every little bit helps."
